Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Claudia Amador conducted an unannounced case management inspection for the purpose of a capacity increase with the licensee. The 3- bedroom, 3- bathroom, two story home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. The fire clearance was granted on 4/29/22. The fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide detector and smoke detector meet requirements and are operational. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. There are no bodies of water on the property. Licensee states that there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 06/2022. Licensee meets immunizations requirements. Mandated Reporter Training AB 1207 was completed on 1/10/2022.

The applicant will use the following areas for childcare: living room, toys storage room, bathroom #1. Off limits areas include the kitchen, bedrooms #1 and #2, bathroom #2, family room, garage and the entire second floor. The kitchen and garage are made off limits with safety gates installed in both entrances, the off limits bedrooms and bathroom are made inaccessible with a highly placed hook latch and a child safety gate at the respective entrance ways, the family room is made inaccessible with a safety gate that is installed at the entrance way to the room. The safety gate also makes the staircase to the second floor, the family room, and the fireplace inaccessible. The applicant has enough toys and equipment available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per
