25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Vicky Williamson conducted an annual random inspection. Met with Director, Katherine Leduc. Director,Piper Rhodes arrived during the inspection and proceeded to assist LPA with the inspection. The facility operates Monday-Friday from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm.
The indoor and outdoor of the facility was inspected. Preschool 2's classroom (ages 2 years) had 8 children with 1 teacher. Preschool 2's and 3's classroom #1 (ages 2 1/2 - 3 years) had 6 children with 1 teacher. Preschool 2's and 3's classroom #2 (ages 2 1/2 - 3 years) had 10 children with 1 teacher. Preschool classroom 3's and 4's #1 (ages 3 years - 4 years) had 9 children with 1 teacher. Preschool classroom 3's and 4's #2 (ages 3 years - 4 years) had 7 children with 1 teacher. Pre-K classroom (ages 5 years) had 11 children with 1 teacher. The facility operates within licensed capacity and ratio limitations. Children were observed to be under visual supervision. The classroom and restrooms have adequate lighting, heating, and ventilation. All floors appeared to be safe and clean. Furniture, children's cubbies, toys and napping equipment (cots) appeared to be in good condition. Trash cans have tight-fitting cover. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other hazardous items are stored behind latched cabinets. Medication policies and procedures were reviewed. Menu is posted weekly. All food was inspected and protected from contamination. Food and beverages are stored in covered containers at 45 degrees F or less. The kitchen and storage areas appeared to be clean. Sign in/ sign out sheets were reviewed showing parent/guardian’s signature and time of day recorded. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition with sufficient shade. Drinking water is available inside the classrooms and outdoor play area. There are no bodies of water or weapons present on the premises. The last fire drill was conducted on documented on 10/30/19. The director's office is designated for use by children who are ill. A sample of the children's records were reviewed and include an Admission Agreement in each child’s file. Staff's records and transcripts were reviewed to verify teacher qualifications and experience. Opening and closing staff members have current CPR and First Aid certifications. |
