25 | On February 21st, 2020 at 12:38 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jo Ann Legaspi conducted an unannounced capacity decrease inspection. Assistant Director (AD) Malia Kent was advised of the meeting’s purpose and granted LPA facility entry.
On 01/03/2020, Community Care Licensing (CCL) received the Licensee’s application (LIC 279) requesting a capacity decrease. The Fire Safety Inspection Request (STD 850) was approved by the local fire marshal on 02/14/2020 for 96 children.
The following ratios were observed in the following classrooms: Room 114/PreK3A had seventeen children supervised by two teachers. Room 113/PreK3B had seventeen children supervised by two teachers. Room 111/Prek4A and Room 112 PreKB were empty because these children were outside at recess. The 2 Year Olds' classroom had nine children supervised by two teachers and one assistant. LPA observed the children to be involved in indoor and outdoor activities. Appropriate ratios were maintained, and visual observation noted.
AD Kent accompanied LPA on a tour of the facility, as shown on the updated facility sketch. Background criminal record clearances were verified and discussed. Facility has working 2A10BC fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, and the first aid kits in place. The last safety drill was on 01/30/2020. There are no bodies of water on the premises. Per AD Kent, no weapons or ammunition are housed in the facility.
In the areas that were evaluated, no deficiencies were observed. Licensure for a decreased capacity of 96 children is approved. A new license will be generated and mailed to the provider via certified post.
