25 | On 08/31/2020 at 1:30pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samantha Salunga conducted an announced case management site inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with Laura Pitts, Director of Operations. This facility requested an increase of capacity from having 89 children to 140 children. The program requested to operate in the following rooms: 25, 26, 27 and the multipurpose room. Fire clearance was granted on 08/26/2020. There were no children present during inspection.
All above classrooms were inspected during this visit. There are sinks with drinking fountains in each classroom. Drinking water is readily accessible via water jugs. Age-appropriate supplies and equipment were observed available in the indoor activity space that is currently licensed which will be moved to the newly licensed rooms prior to having any children in the new rooms. There are several bathrooms for the children which include toilets and sinks and afford privacy. There is a separate staff restroom. Children will be escorted to/from the bathrooms at all times. The classrooms were not measured as they are exempt from square footage requirements as long as they are certified by the principal for use as classrooms during the day. Food preparation for snacks will be done in the classrooms. Isolation for ill children is in Room 23. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector located in Room 26. Cleaning supplies and other toxics are inaccessible to children through latches, locks and/or placed on high surfaces. The playground to be used is the elementary school playground, which has age-appropriate play equipment and plenty of space and fencing. There is shade available and a drinking fountain as well. Ms. Pitts is reminded to keep anything that reads, “Keep Out of Reach of Children” inaccessible to children.
