25 | Licensing Program Analyst, Joelle Redding, made an unannounced visit for the purpose of a random annual inspection. During this visit there were no children with present due to parent conferences. Program operates Monday thru Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. in Room F17.
LPA toured the room. The furniture, books, games and toys are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. The room was a comfortable temperature during this visit. No hazards were noted. Medications, when present, are kept in a lock box or emergency backpack, out of reach of children. Bathrooms and handwashing areas are in a safe, sanitary and operating condition. There is a waiver in place to share the elementary bathrooms in the Learning Mall. Children bring their own morning snack and lunch with the option to purchase cafeteria lunch from the school Afternoon snack is provided by the program. Snack menus were posted and are being stored for a minimum of 30 days. All hazardous items are stored where they are inaccessible to children. The outdoor play area is fenced and has enough cushioning under and around the play structure and shade is available. There is an operational water fountain and children bring their own water bottles. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. The carbon monoxide detector is operational and plugged in by the sink. All staff present have current CPR and First Aid certification. Sign in/out sheets were reviewed for prior days and found to be complete. A sample of children's records were reviewed for admission’s agreements and staff records for qualifications. SB 792 (staff immunizations) and AB 1207 (Mandated Reporter Training) requirements have been met. Facility is reminded the Mandated Reporter Training is to be retaken every two years and can be accessed at the following website: www.mandatedreporterca.com. Isolation area is by the teacher's desk.
