NARRATIVE
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25	Licensing Program Analyst, Joelle Redding, made an unannounced visit for the purpose of a random annual inspection. Director, Jillian Burke, is also the Vice Principal of St. John's school and teacher Kelly Edwards is her back up. During this visit, there were 9 sleeping children with an Aide and 17 children with two teachers outside. Facility is within ratio and capacity. Program operates Monday thru Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. LPA toured both rooms. The furniture, books, games and toys are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. Rooms were a comfortable temperature during this visit. No hazards were noted. Medications are kept in a the office which is between the two rooms, inaccessible to children. Bathrooms and handwashing areas are in a safe, sanitary and operating condition. All food is brought from home. All hazardous items are stored where they are inaccessible to children. The outdoor play area is fenced and has enough cushioning under and around play structures. There is sufficient shade and portable water is used outdoors. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. The carbon monoxide detector is operational. All staff present have a current CPR and First Aid certification. Sign in/out sheets were reviewed. LPA observed appropriate supervision in and out of the classroom. A sample of children's records were reviewed for admission’s agreements and staff records for qualifications. SB 792 (staff immunizations) and AB 1207 (Mandated Reporter Training) requirements have been met. Facility is reminded the Mandated Reporter Training is to be retaken every two years and can be accessed at the following website: www.mandatedreporterca.com. Isolation area is the Director's office. Effects of Lead Exposure Handout provided for dissemination to parents/guardians. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS and an approved Plan is in place. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
