LPA Luigi Gargaro visited the facility to conduct a comprehensive site inspection. Upon arrival LPA met with assistant director Irma Gomez and proceeded to tour the facility. All required notices, forms and license(s) were posted. There were nine children in attendance today but at analyst's arrival there were five children remaining under the supervision of teachers Anna Unibe, Elsa Acosta and Sonia Carrera. The children were playing in the main facility playground when analyst arrived. Appropriate care & visual supervision were observed at all times during the visit.

Analyst inspected all five of the currently operating facility classrooms during his visit including: Room 2005 (the Flower room Ages 3-5), Room 2009 (the Sunflower Room Ages 3-5), Room 2012 (the Daisy Room Ages 3-5), Room 2013 (the Lily Room 2 year olds), and Room 2016 (the Goldfish Room Ages 2 1/2-3 1/2). Classroom 2020 (the Blue River Room) is non operational this semester and will be kept that way until further notice.

Age appropriate furniture and equipment in good condition were found in all the classrooms. Rooms have adequate heating, lighting, ventilation and drinking water from classroom water fountains. Storage cubbies are readily available and all the rooms accommodate class size. Napping equipment consists of cots each of which has its own sheet or covering. Bathrooms are maintained with operational toilets and faucets with appropriate temperature. Paper towels and toilet paper are available. Bathrooms are lighted and have ventilation. Food service consists of prepared food brought to facility from outside vendor that is served to children. Menu is posted. Cleaning supplies are kept out of reach of children. The outdoor play area consists of a main playground immediately adjacent to the classrooms and a smaller playground immediately next to it for younger aged children. Both areas have sufficient shade coverings and cushioning. Equipment is age appropriate. Water is from jugs brought out to the yard when children are outdoors and outdoor area also contains water fountains.

Fire drills and earthquake drills were last conducted at the facility on 12/09/19 and 10/17/19, respectively. Assistant director advised analyst that currently no medication is being dispensed at the facility.

LPA reviewed sign in sheets and found them to be in compliance. Personnel records contain health screenings and children’s records contain emergency information and medical assessments. At least one staff member has current CPR and First Aid certifications. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions.

Incidental Medical Services policy was reviewed with assistant director. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual – Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: http://www.ada.gov/childqanda.htm. LPA and assistant director discussed California Megan's Law and LPA provided website: www.meganslaw.ca.gov for supervisor facility to use for ongoing review. The facility appeared to be in substantial compliance today and no deficiencies were cited.
