32 | There is a kitchen area located in Room 801, which currently includes a staff sink, refrigerator, two microwaves, toaster oven, oven, and dishwasher. Facility requires the parent to provide their child’s daily lunch meals. Facility only provides the children’s snacks. Sign-in/drop off will take place in the entrance area located inside the director’s office/hallway via Brightwheel.
The facility has a temporary outdoor play area per facility sketch that was inspected and measured. This play area measured 10,080 sq. ft., sufficient for a total of 134 children at one time, more than sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. When LPAs inspected the outdoor play area, LPAs observed canopies and trees used for shade. Play area has tricycles and mini play structures that were age appropriate and in good condition. Play area was observed completely fenced via chain link fencing with mesh cover (higher than 4ft). Drinking water is readily accessible inside and outside the classroom via refillable water jugs and water cups, provided by the facility. Children can bring their own water bottles.
Incidental Medical services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual – Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: http. LPA and applicant discussed California Megan's Law and LPA provided: www.meganslaw.ca.gov.
Facility Representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPAs reviewed the updated LIC311A with the facility representative today and reminded to keep anything that reads, “Keep Out of Reach of Children” inaccessible to children. |
