25 | Licensing Program Analyst's (LPA) Samantha Salunga and Michael Morales-Desilvestore visited the facility to conduct an annual random inspection. Upon arrival, LPA's met with Lead Teacher, Caroline Thomas, and proceeded to tour the facility. Director, Shelly Baker, arrived soon after to conclude LPA's inspection. LPA's observed a total 26 children in the following classrooms:
- Classroom #1: 12 children with Tatiana Huertero and Gabriela Castro
- Classroom #2: 4 children with Caroline Thomas
- Classroom #3: 10 children with substitute Morgan Lucie.
Appropriate ratios and capacity were observed. Furniture and equipment inside and outside of facility is in good condition; free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Drinking water is readily accessible at all times. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children via latches, locks and/or placed up on high surfaces. No bodies of water was observed during time of inspection. Director states there are no firearms or weapons present at this facility. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in good repair and sanitary. Kitchen/food preparation area is observed clean and free of litter, mold, rodents and other vermin. All storage containers for solid waste have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Outdoor play area is fully fenced and contains sufficient amount of cushioning with turf and rubber to absorb a fall. Sign in/sign out sheets are well maintained via electronically. Menus are posted. All required documents are posted. Children’s files were reviewed for medical assessment. Present staff (during inspection) records were reviewed and contained documentation of educational background, training, and/or experience. There is at least one staff member on site at all times that is current in CPR/First Aid. Immunization records per SB792 and Mandated Reporter Certificate per AB1207 was reviewed for staff that were present and were observed to be in compliance. |
