Licensing Program Analyst (LPA's) Tresha Souza and Yolanda Baez arrived at the facility to conduct an annual random inspection. Upon arrival LPA's met with Assistant Director Lorylynn Coronel. The following ratios were observed:

Room 1 (Serves children of 0 to 12 months of age):

  • There were 8 children present with 2 staff members
Room 2 (Serves children of 12 to 24 months of age):
  • There were 12 children present with 3 staff members
Room 3 (Serves children of 12 to 24 months of age):
  • There were 11 children present with 3 staff members

There are not any bodies of water or weapons at this facility. The infant toys are safe and do not have sharp points, edges or splinters, or made of small parts that can be pulled off. There is sufficient infant napping equipment, there are 12 cribs present in the napping area in Room 1. Infant changing tables are covered with washable vinyl and raised sides at least 3 inches high and are within arms reach of a sink. There are no walkers, bouncy seats, exersaucers or jumpers in the classrooms. All infants including those napping in cribs are under visual observation at all times. Rooms have adequate heating, lighting, and ventilation. Solid waste storage vessels, including moveable bins, have tight-fitting covers on, and are in good repair. Each room has one changing table which is within the reach of a sink. Disinfectants, hazardous items, and medications are inaccessible to children. There are two outdoor play areas, one for infants and one for pre-school use. Both outdoor play areas are fenced and physically separate. The North East fence in infant area is loose and needs to be bolted down, see advisory note. Infant play area has padding, equipment for cushioning, canopy for shade, and age appropriate toys and equipment. Infant play yard is located directly outside Room 1 and Room 2. The last emergency drill was conducted on 1/8/2020. There is an operational smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector at the facility. First Aid/CPR was reviewed and is in compliance. Staff records of education, training, and/or experience were reviewed and are in compliance.

LPA's reviewed the following with Director: IMS, SIDS, Car seat Law, and Shaken Baby Syndrome. This facility does provide Incidental Medical Services- IMS. An IMS Plan of Operation is already on file for Kindercare company. The following information regarding ADA was provided, US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and http://www.ada.gov/childqanda.htm. LPA's and Director discussed California Megan's Law and LPA's provided: www.meganslaw.ca.gov.

Immunization law (SB792) was discussed with Director and she understands that anyone who provides care and supervision to the children must have immunization records maintained at the facility for: pertussis, measles, and influenza. Facility is compliant with SB792. LPA's discussed the Mandated Reporter training, AB1207. LPA's reminded Director that all staff members are to take the training and have the printed certificates present at the facility and available for review and certificates expire every two years. Facility is compliant with AB1207.

NOTICE OF SITE VISIT IS TO BE POSTED FOR 30 DAYS. LPA's observed the posting the Notice of Site Visit.
