32 | LPA observed a total of 4 sinks, 2 toilets and 1 urinal for the toddler component. There is a changing table within the reach of a sink in both toddler classrooms. LPA observed a total of 11 sinks and 8 toilets available for the preschool children. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity.
The facility currently has a fully fenced playground area. There is a chain link fencing at the toddler playgrounds that is at least four feet high. The total square footage for both toddler outdoor activity spaces measured to be 2482.83 square feet as the smaller playground was remeasured to be 529.58 square feet and the larger toddler playground that is located outside of P9A measured to be 1953.25 square feet. The total outdoor toddler playground is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. The preschool outdoor playground was previously measured to be 8480 square feet. Facility was recently approved for the preschool children to share the kindergarten playground by scheduling and that playground was previously measured to be 7000 square feet. There is an approved waiver for the preschool children to share the kindergarten playground dated 01/09/2024. Shade is provided via sail shades and trees at the toddler playgrounds and there are large umbrella shade structures, canopies and trees at the preschool playground. The kindergarten playground has sail shade. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playgrounds. There is a climbing structure on the playground for children ages 2-5 years old at the preschool and kindergarten playground. There is adequate cushioning in fall zones of climber provided by rubber cushioning at the preschool playground and wood chips at the kindergarten playground. Drinking water is available via the children's own water bottles and there is a drinking fountain at the preschool playground as well. LPA observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. Director was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing.
Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Childcare Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.”
