Facility is requesting to be licensed for 116 children by increasing the toddler option to 24 children (ages 18 to 36 months) in classrooms P9A and P9B and keeping the same capacity of 92 preschool children (ages 2 to 5 years old) in classrooms P1, P2, P4, P5, P6, P7 and P8. Also P10 as a multipurpose room. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director Babeth Esterly.
Present during today’s inspection were 14 toddlers with 4 staff members and 48 preschool children supervised by 10 staff members. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed facility representative that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities.
LPA Siao measured the indoor activity space on 08/27/2024. Total toddler indoor activity space was remeasured to be 1024.61 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 24 toddlers. The preschool indoor activity space was previously measured to be 3247.37 square feet, which is sufficient for 92 children. There are a total of 4 sinks, 2 toilets and 1 urinal for the toddler component. There is a changing table within the reach of a sink in both toddler classrooms. There are a total of 11 sinks and 8 toilets available for the preschool children. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. Fire clearance was granted on 08/29/2024. Facility has sufficient outdoor space for both the toddler and preschool areas to accommodate the requested capacity increase.
Facility appears to be within substantial compliance during today's inspection. The capacity increase for the toddler component is granted effective today.
A notice of site visit was given to facility representative and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days.
