25 | On 06/24/2024 at 8:40am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Selina Siao conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for a decrease in capacity. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director Lori Jiannuzzi and conducted a tour of the classrooms to gather census. Present during today’s inspection were 7 infants with 2 staff members in the Infant class. Facility representative is requesting to be licensed for 44 infants (ages 0 to 24 months) in the Infant Classroom with (12 cribs), Toddler B classsroom with (11 cribs) and Toddler A room. Hours of operation is Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected and remeasured today. LPA informed Lori Jiannuzzi that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities.
LPA continued to tour the facility and remeasured all the indoor and outdoor activity space. Total indoor activity space measured to be 1953.11 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 44 Children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots/cribs, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via the children's zippy cups and it gets refill from the sink. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There is a swimming pool located at the facility's parking lot with the required fencing that meets the department's pool fencing requirements. Director stated that there is no weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 06/05/2024 for 44 children.
LPA observed a total of 6 sinks available for children and there is a changing table in all three of the infant classrooms next to the sink. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 44 children.
