Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Yolanda Baez arrived at the facility to conduct an annual random inspection. Upon arrival LPA Baez met with Director, Mary Foust. The following ratios were observed:

Room 4 (Is a Preschool classroom, Serves children of 2 through 3 years of age):
  • There were not any children or staff members present throughout the inspection
Room 1 (Is a Preschool classroom, Serves children of 4 through 5 years of age):
  • There were not any children or staff members present throughout the inspection
Appropriate ratios and capacity were observed.

Furniture and age appropriate equipment is in good condition indoors and outdoors. Children's toilets and hand washing facilities are sanitary. Rooms are safe and clean. The parents are responsible for providing lunch and snacks and staff at the facility are responsible for assisting children with the lunches and snacks that are provided from home. Drinking water is readily accessible inside of the classroom through the use of water jugs and disposable cups. Children have access to water outside of the classroom through water jugs and disposable cups. All disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children through latches and locks. Storage area for poisons is locked. Solid waste storage vessels, including moveable bins, have tight-fitting covers on, and are in good repair. Outdoor play area is fenced with sufficient material for cushioning, sufficient amount of toys, area has canopies used for shade, and it is surrounded by a 4 foot high fence. There are no bodies of water or weapons at this facility. There is an operational smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector at the facility. The last emergency drill was conducted on 06/2019. LPA reviewed the following with Director: IMS, SIDS, Car seat Law, Shaken Baby Syndrome, and the new Safe Sleep Regulation. This facility does want to provide Incidental Medical Services- IMS and will submit a plan of operation within 30 days. Immunization law (SB792) was discussed with Director and she understands that anyone who provides care and supervision to the children must have immunization records maintained at the facility for: pertussis, measles, and influenza. Director was reminded that all staff are to have some type of immunization record/ proof of immunity present at the facility for review.

LPA Baez discussed the new Mandated Reporter training, AB1207. LPA Baez reminded Director that all staff members are to take the training and have the printed certificates present at the facility and available for review. The mandated reporter training per AB1207 may be located at www.mandatedreporterca.com

There were not any deficiencies issued throughout today's inspection.
