25 | On 8/16/23 at 9:00 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Adrian Mangina and Gerald Poindexter conducted an announced case management site inspection. Upon arrival, LPAs met with Josephine Condra, Project Resource Teacher and Holly Morey Program Manager for Early Learning. This facility had requested to revert to the originally licensed classroom after school renovations. The program requested to operate in the following rooms: Room 5 (formerly Room 10). Fire clearance was granted on 8/15/2023. There were no children present during inspection as it is summer break.
The above classroom was inspected during this visit. The dimensions were:1258.6 square feet. During the inspection, LPAs observed the indoor play space to be complete with age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector and 3A40BC fire extinguisher in the classroom. Classroom 5 has one toilet and two sinks available for children. Facility has requested a waiver to allow bathroom sharing with school-aged children. The bathrooms are located approximately 100 feet down the hall from the classroom. Facility staff will ensure is no commingling of age groups happens and will ensure direct supervision when preschoolers are using the bathroom. Children will always be escorted to/from the bathrooms. There are 4 sinks and 7 toilets in the girl’s bathroom and 4 sinks and 3 toilets and 6 urinals in the boy’s bathroom. There is a separate staff restroom. Outdoor space will be the playground located just outside the building (Building 100) and behind Building 200. The facility has requested a waiver to share the playground on a scheduled basis with the school-aged children. The playground area was measured and the dimensions are: 7771.17 square feet. Facility provides lunch/snacks. Food preparation takes place in the kitchen. The school operates two half day programs and breakfast and lunch is provided. Isolation for ill children will be the school nurse’s office.
