25 | On 7/19/21 at 1:00 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst, Joelle Redding, met with Director, Alisa Wickham, for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. There were 29 children present, napping, as follows: Room 110 - 2 teachers with 11 children, Room 101, 1 teacher with 9 children in Room 102, 1 teacher with 9 children. Facility is within ratio and capacity. Program operates 8:00 am. to 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday
LPA toured the facility. The furniture, books, games and toys are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. Rooms were a comfortable temperature during this visit. No hazards were noted. All storage containers and trashes have tight fitting lids and are in good repair. Children bring all their own food. Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary and operating condition. Shared bathrooms have been sectioned so that one side is for each room to avoid commingling cohorts. Medications are kept in a safe place, inaccessible to children. Poisons, disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other items that are dangerous to children have been made inaccessible. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. Outdoor play area is fully fenced with sufficient cushioning and adequate shade. Playground equipment and outdoor surfaces are maintained in good condition. The playground has been sectioned into three parts to allow for stable cohorts and social distancing. Portable water is used and water fountains are temporarily off limits. There are no bodies of water, firearms or ammunition on the property. The carbon monoxide detector is operational, located by the front desk.
LPA reviewed, sign in/out sheets, a sample of personnel records for a health screening and on-the-job training. Once a week, the staff meet in teams. The facility encourages parents to have their children wear masks and the facility has masks on hand. Check in is at front with temperature check, masked drop off and pick up and sanitized pens for sign in and out. A sample of children's records for emergency information and a medical assessment. Children are evaluated upon entry and monitored throughout the day for signs of illness. The isolation area for ill children awaiting pick up is the Director's office and there is an isolation bathroom available. There is at least one staff present with current CPR and FA certification at all times. |
