Licensee representative was reminded that corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, and jumpers are not allowed in day care. Licensee was provided with information about Heat Related Illness, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), Never Shake a Baby, Safe sleep for infants, best practice on supervision and reporting responsibilities were discussed. The ABC’S of Safe Sleep: Sleep is Safest: Alone, on their Back in an empty Crib on a firm mattress.
Child Care Providers can now sign up for Quarterly Updates and PINS through the DSS website at www.ccld.ca.gov. LPA discussed California Megan's Law and LPA provided: www.meganslaw.ca.gov.
Facility representative submitted an application to request to increase the infant capacity from 28 to 45 by adding the previous licensed school age classroom to be a room for older infants. LPA Siao measured the classroom today and it measured to be 662.97 which is sufficient to care for up to 18 infants. There are 3 sinks total available for the infant program. An updated application will be submitted to Licensing signed by the licensee representative within 10 days. A fire clearance is required pending the approval of the capacity increase.
Facility appears to be in substantial compliance during today's inspection.
A notice of site visit was provided and to be posted at the facility for 30 days. Failure to keep notice posted will result in a civil penalty of $100.00.
