25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) William Chancellor conducted an unannounced annual inspection on May 30, 2025, at 9:00 AM. LPA met with Director Delilah Rodriguez, who provided a tour of the preschool center.
During the inspection, several key facility items were observed throughout the center visible to families, staff and caregivers. These included the facility's license, the Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC610) and Earthquake Preparedness Checklist (LIC9148), the Parent’s Rights Poster (PUB393), Personal Rights (LIC613A), the Child Car Seat Law notice, and the menu. The facility was found to be operating within the limits stated on its license, and staff-to-child ratios were observed to be maintained with 1:12 and additional staff present. Classrooms were adequately equipped with age- and size-appropriate furniture and materials, ensuring a safe and hazard-free environment. The facility representative confirmed that no weapons were present on the premises.
There were no accessible bodies of water on-site. The director is aware that any wading pools or similar products must be emptied immediately after use and stored in an upright position. Drinking water was available both indoors and outdoors. Where children have access to filtered water and disposable cups. If filtered or faucet water is used, LPA verified that lead testing was completed in October 2022, and the next testing is due by October 2027.
Medications, disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other hazardous materials were stored in locations inaccessible to children. Director was reminded that poisons and toxins should be locked away by a key. The facility’s floors were observed to be safe and clean. One bathroom toilet was observed to not be in proper working condition, arrangements for children were arranged to utilize alternative restroom as needed. The playgrounds were enclosed by six foot or higher fencing, surrounding the perimeter of the center. LPA observed the garden beds, slide, sandbox and lavender zig-zag fenced off and under temproary construction. Outdoor activity areas contained age- and size-appropriate equipment in good condition.
