25 | On 03/27/2023 at 11:35am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Selina Siao conducted case management inspection, for Action Level Exceedance (ALE) detected in facility's water fixtures. There were 25 children supervised by 4 staff members at the playground getting ready for the parents to pick up. Appropriate title 5 ratio and supervision was observed. All staff members have the required background clearances and are associated to the facility. LPA met with Kristie Spillane, Preschool Operations Supervisor and conducted a tour of the kitchen area.
Per the new Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, which requires the testing of water for lead in Child Care Centers (CCCs). Per AB 2370, all CCCs that are located in buildings constructed before January 1, 2010, must have their water tested and post the results by January 1, 2023, and every 5 years after the date of the first testing.
Facility provided facility sketch and required forms (LIC 9275/9276) to Department on 03/15/2023.
On 02/23/2023, the Department received notification from the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB), Division of Drinking Water (DDW). The SWRCB report indicated the facility was inspected and eight water samples were collected on 02/17/2023.
Faucets and drinking fountain reported with 5.5 ppb or greater lead exceedance levels is as follow:
Sample Site Faucet F, G and I - kitchen food prep faucets. The three kitchen faucets have not been use since COVID. The three faucets internal water parts has been replaced. The three faucets are scheduled to be retest on 03/30/2023.
