25 | On 09/15/20 at 9:30 a.m., Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Rajani Goudreau and Michelle Hood arrived at the facility to conduct a licensee-initiated case management visit for a capacity increase and a classroom and outdoor playground addition. Upon arrival LPA, met with Director, Joette Correla and proceeded to tour the facility. There were 6 children with two staff members in the Toddler Viking classroom, 11 children with two staff members in the Little Viking classroom, 18 children and 3 staff members in the Jr Viking classroom. Facility is within ratio/capacity limitations. The Facility is requesting a capacity of 76 preschool children, classroom Middle Viking and Middle Viking playground additions. Facility operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
This preschool program operates in the following classrooms: Toddler Viking, Little Viking, Jr Viking and Middle Viking. The Toddler Viking, Little Viking and Jr Viking were previously measured at 2,123 square feet in 2019. LPA measured the Middle Viking classroom which measured a total of 547 square feet. Total indoor square footage measures a total of 2,670 square feet which accommodates 76 children at one time. The Middle Viking classroom was inspected and is equipped with appropriate furniture, including including tables, chairs, cubbies, bookshelves, and other materials for the children. Middle Viking classroom is located in the social hall which is in a separate building from the other classrooms. Access to the Middle Viking classroom is accessible through stairs. Furthermore, the Middle Viking classroom is equipped with an operational carbon monoxide detector. The Toddler Viking, Little Viking and Jr Viking classrooms each contain a restroom with two sinks and two toilets. The Middle Viking classroom contains a restroom with one sink and one toilet. The number of toilets and sinks is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 76 children. LPA observed required postings posted. See LIC809-C continuation page... |
