25 | On 3/17/23 at 1:10pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Martha Malane arrived at the facility to conduct a case management inspection for the purpose of a capacity decrease and to remove room 125 from the infant license. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director, Delisha Doakes and was led on a tour the facility. There were 11 children and four (4) staff members present. The facility is requesting a capacity decrease to 24 infant children (age 0-24 months) in rooms 123 and 124. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:00am to 5:30pm.
The indoor space measured a total of 1268.54 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate 36 children, however there was not a nap room/area for infants. Per regulation, nap room areas are not included in the square footage; LPA will need to return to the facility to remeasure rooms once a nap area is created. Classrooms are equipped with appropriate furniture, including mats for napping, tables, chairs, cubbies, bookshelves and other materials for the children. The facility has a total of two (2) toilets and two (2) sinks exclusive for the children's use, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. There is a sink within arm’s reach of the changing table. Director stated she understands the sink near the diaper changing table shall not be used for food preparation.
The outdoor activity space was inspected and measured a total of 949.11 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate 12 children, however applicant is requesting a capacity of 24 infant children. A fire clearance for 24 infant children (age 0-24 months) was granted 3/13/23.
The following is required:
1. Waiver request submitted to the SDRO for the outdoor activity space
2. Updated LIC200A
3. Nap room/area including cribs
