Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jeanette Sanchez made an unannounced visit to the facility to deliver complaint findings. LPA conducted COVID-19 screening questions prior to entry. LPA met with Director Olga Camacho. The investigation consisted of record review and interviews.

On 1/18/22, the department received a complaint alledging the facility is not following the proper protocol for COVID-19. Specifically it was alleged that the facility did not close down a classroom with a known COVID-19 exposure.

Confidential interviews found that the directives received in regards to classroom closures were based off of information relayed from direct staff to off campus staff. Interviews found that some information regarding the exposures may not have been properly or thoroughly explained, causing a miscommunication. Due to this, only one classroom was closed rather than two.

While it has been established that a second COVID-19 case caused an additional classroom closure, it cannot be determined when or how the exposure occurred or that staff knowingly allowed an exposed classroom to stay open, thereby violating personal rights.

Although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are unsubstantiated.

An exit interview was conducted. The appeal rights were discussed and provided along with a copy of this report to Director Olga Camacho on this date. A Notice of Site Visit was posted.
