25 | On 09/12/22 at 3:41 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Rajani Goudreau conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection and met with Director, Lynn Leavitt. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and toured the facility indoors and outdoors. The following ratio was observed: Classroom #302 (six children/two staff members). There were six children present with two staff members. This is a full day program which operates year around; Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises, per observation and directors’ statement. There are no weapons, firearms or ammunition stored on the premises, per director. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. No poisons were observed during the inspection.Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts, per observation. The facility has sufficient age appropriate furniture, and equipment including cribs, cots, changing tables and feeding chairs. There is indoor and outdoor activity space for infants that is physically separate. Outdoor play equipment was observed to be in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space was observed to be maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. Floors in the facility were observed to be clean and safe. All kitchen, food preparation and storage areas were observed to be clean, free of litter. All food is protected against contamination and any contaminated food is discarded immediately. Solid waste storage containers were observed to have tight-fitting covers and in good repair. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors by the use of refillable water containers and cups brought from home or provided by the facility. Areas around high climbing equipment has cushioning material to absorb falls by the use of sand. The facility is free of flies, insects and rodents, per observation. Shade was observed in the outdoor activity space by the use of Shade kites and a canopy. Based on observation, the facility has a first aid kit and a functioning carbon monoxide detector that meets statutory requirements. |
