On August 28, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Leilani Curtis and Samantha Salunga conducted an announced case management inspection in reference to the Licensee’s request for an increase in capacity and room addition. The Licensee requests to increase her capacity from 24 children to 48 children. Upon arrival LPA’s met with Director Christine Leo and proceeded to tour the facility. Also present was the elementary school principal, Christine Lang. There were no children present during today’s inspection.

The following classrooms were measured today:
  • The Kindergarten Room has 1,243.83 sq. ft. of indoor space and will accommodate 35 children.
  • The Daycare Room was re-measured and has 1,134.58 sq. ft. of indoor space and will accommodate 32 children.

The total square footage for both classrooms combined is 2,378.41 sq. ft. and will accommodate 67 children.

The outdoor play space was previously measured and will accommodate the requested capacity. There is an approved waiver in place allowing the facility to share the elementary school playground at staggered times to ensure no commingling. LPA’s observed that all classrooms have age appropriate furnishings and equipment. Rooms were observed to be safe and free of hazards. The facility has 7 sinks and 4 toilets which is enough to accommodate the requested capacity of 48 children. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector in the daycare room.

A License with a capacity of 48 children may be issued upon final file review.
An exit interview was conducted and appeal rights (LIC 9058 1/16) were discussed. LIC 9213 NOTICE OF SITE VISIT FORM IS REQUIRED TO BE POSTED FOR 30 DAYS. LPA's observed Director post notice of site visit.
