25 | On 2/27/23 at 10:25am, Licensing Program Analyst, Patrick Ma, made an unannounced annual inspection visit. Upon arrival, there were 3 fully qualified teachers present but stated their Site Supervisor, Lien Mai was not present today. About 11:20am Preschool Operation Supervisor, Kristie Spillane, arrived at the facility. There were 21 children present with 4 teachers in the preschool room. Facility is within ratio and capacity. Program operates M – F from 7:30 – 5:30pm.
LPA toured the facility. The rooms were clean, orderly and a comfortable temperature during this visit. Adequate ventilation and heating are available. The furniture, books, games, and toys are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. There is a variety of activities available throughout the day. All required forms were posted. Lunches and snack are delivered daily by the District or brought from home by the families. The lunch/snack menu is posted, changes are recorded, and menus are stored for 30 days. Drinking water is readily available. Napping equipment is sufficient for each child, bedding is stored separately, and cots are labeled for each child and are disinfected every week. Facility has ensured that there is adequate space between cots for easy passage and that cots are not blocking entrances or exits.
Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary and operating condition. Medications are kept in a locked cabinet, inaccessible to children. Poisons, disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other items that are dangerous to children have been made inaccessible. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. Outdoor play area is fully fenced with sufficient cushioning and adequate shade, separate from other programs. Age appropriate playground equipment and outdoor surfaces are in a safe condition. |
