25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Diana Sanchez made an unannounced Annual/Random inspection on today's date, at the above referenced facility. LPA met with facility director Evelyn Huitron and proceeded to tour the facility. The purpose of the inspection is to ensure the facility is maintaining the health and safety standards as required by Community Care Licensing (CCL) Regulations governing Child Care Centers.
There were 17 children and 3 staff in classroom. Appropriate ratios, capacity, care and visual supervision were observed. All furniture and equipment are age appropriate and in good repair. Classrooms have adequate heating, lighting and ventilation. Bathrooms are clean, in good repair, toilets and sinks are operable. Paper towels and toilet paper is available. Hazardous materials are inaccessible to children.
Classrooms have drinking water available for children. Food service area consists of a kitchen which is clean and free of hazards. Facility provides breakfast, lunch and snacks. Adequate food is available for meals and monthly menus are posted.
There is an operational Type 2A:10BC fire extinguishers and working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in the facility.
Outdoor play area has sailing shade, playground structure is secured to the ground and has sufficient wood chips to absorb children’s fall. There are no bodies of water nor weapons at this facility. Area has drinking water available and grounds are free of debris or potential hazards.
At least one staff member has current CPR and First Aid certifications. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions.
Assembly Bill 1207 Mandated Child Abuse Reporting. Beginning on January 1, 2018, this law requires all licensed providers, applicants, directors and employees to complete training as specified on their mandated reporter duties and to renew their training every two years. |
