32 | Two (2) out of seven staff (7) interviewed stated a situation occurred in the classroom where two (2) staff engaged in a disagreement over classroom duties in front of infants in care; however, there was no indication that staff were yelling or used inappropriate language. All other staff stated they are not aware of staff speaking inappropriately to infants. Two (2) parents were interviewed and stated they have not observed staff speaking inappropriately to infants. All staff and parents interviewed denied that staff engage in verbal altercations in the presence of infants. The Site Supervisor was aware of the disagreement and intervened by removing staff from the classroom to discuss the situation in private.
Although LPA was able to determine a staff disagreement occurred, LPA was unable to determine if the disagreement resulted in a violation of children’s rights. Due to conflicting information obtained throughout the course of the investigation, LPA was unable to determine whether or not the allegations occurred. Although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are unsubstantiated.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Site Supervisor, Marissa Baca.
A copy of this report, along with Appeal Rights (LIC9058 01/16), were provided.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. LPA observed that the notice of site visit was posted during the inspection. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. |
