25 | On 2/2/23 at 2:00pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Vicky Williamson conducted an unannounced annual required inspection and met with Director Stephanie Larson. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and toured the facility indoors and outdoors. This program operates Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 5:30pm. The following ratios were observed: Room 103 had 12 children with one (1) teacher and one (1) assistant, Room 105 had 13 children observed on the playground with two (2) teachers and one (1) volunteer, Room 107 had 14 children observed on the playground with two (2) teachers, one (1) and assistant and one (1) volunteer, Room 109 had eight (8) toddlers (ages 18-36 months) observed on the playground with two (2) teachers, one (1) student intern and one (1) volunteer.
Furniture and equipment are in good condition. Playground equipment is in safe condition. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. Areas around high climbing equipment and the slide have cushioning material to absorb falls. Toilets and hand-washing equipment are in safe and sanitary operating condition. Floors in the facility are clean and safe. Solid waste storage containers have covers and are in good repair. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. Facility has a functioning carbon monoxide detector that meet statutory requirements. The last fire/disaster drill was conducted and documented 10/21/22. Children bring their lunch and morning snack. The afternoon snack is provided by the facility. Menus were posted.
A review of staff records on this date indicates facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
