25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Ana Noble and Jeanette Sanchez arrived at the facility for the purpose of verifying Plan of corrections. Upon arrival LPAs met with Claudia Garcia, Director. Ms. Garcia granted access to the facility, took census and a tour of the facility. The purpose of today's visit is to follow-up on a "Plan of Correction" (POC) for deficiency, that were issued during a visit conducted on 10/18/2021.
THIS DEFICIENCY WERE CLEARED DURING THIS VISIT.
- 101239(e)(4) Fixtures, Furniture, Equipment and Supplies.
All toilets, handwashing and bathing facilities shall be maintained in safe and sanitary operating condition shall be provided as needed in centers that serve children with physical disabilities. Based on LPAs observation, one of the children's restrooms had a strong odor of urine upon entrance. LPAs could smell the urine through mask use.
- 101238.2(d)(2) Outdoor Activity Space
Free of hazards including, but not limited to, holes, broken glass and other debris, and dry grasses that pose a fire hazard. Based on LPAs observation, the playground area contained toys that were in disrepair, in such that the swing set & other play structures have cobwebs and showed rusting. The ground turf was coming up, which could cause a tripping hazard. Additionally, LPAs observed multiple holes in the ground.
- 101238(a) The child care center shall be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees and visitors. Based on LPAs observation, in Rooms 1 and 2, there were multiple rips and tears in the carpets, which can be a tripping hazard. Additionally, the carpet in Room 3 showed signs of wear and tear and had a big, dark and dirty stain on it.
Corrections were cleared, Letter of Deficiency Citations Cleared was issued during visit, for the above listed deficiency. An exit interview was conducted with Ms. Garcia, Notice of Site Visit posted and a copy of this report was provided to Ms. Garcia today.
