On 10/01/2020 at 11:45AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elise Read made an announced visit for the purpose of a capacity increase and room addition. Due to COVID-19, this inspection was an announced inspection. The facility is requesting to increase their capacity from 42 infants to 58 infants. During this visit there were 20 children with 7 staff in 2 classrooms. Facility is within licensed capacity and ratio. The fire clearance was granted on 09/23/20.

Infant Room 3 is being added to the licensed space within the facility. Infant Rooms 1 and 2 were previously measured on 08/25/14 at 1508.03 square feet, sufficient for 43 infants. Infant Room 3 measures at 637.29 square feet, sufficient for 18 infants, which will be sufficient to bring the total capacity to 58 children. There are 8 cribs, sufficient for 16 children. Director understands that if they enroll more than 16 children in this infant classroom, they will need to purchase more cribs. There are 2 sinks, sufficient for 30 children. There are no toilets or potty chairs available to the children in this classroom, as this location will be for young infants in diapers only.

The playground was previously measured at 1596.84 square feet on 08/13/13, sufficient for 21 children. There is an additional outdoor area that was measured on 05/20/15 at 923 square feet, sufficient for 12 additional children. The combined outdoor space is sufficient for 33 children. A playground waiver will need to be approved prior to granting the capacity increase.

The furniture and toys are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. Rooms were a comfortable temperature during this visit. No hazards were noted. The infant changing table has not arrived yet. Director demonstrated where the changing table will be located, next to a sink, and will send pictures when it arrives. Hand washing areas are in a safe, sanitary and operating condition. All hazardous items are stored where they are inaccessible to children. The outdoor play area is fenced, has sufficient cushioning and adequate shade.
