On 12/5/2024 @ 10:25AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nancy Diaz conducted an unannounced inspection. LPA met and toured the facility with Maria Cabrera (Ass't Director). LPA also met with Ana Lopez, Director. Observed present today were 59 preschool children.

It was alleged that the facility served expired food and that the food served were not maintained within proper temperature. It was also alleged that the facility was not clean and sanitary. LPA interviewed several staff, including the director and ass't director. Information gathered today indicated that food is delivered around 8:30-9:30AM from outside vendor. Warm food is kept in container wrapped in plastic and aluminum foil. Facility did not have food warmers or coolers to maintain a safe temperature to prevent spoilage or bacterial growth. Staff have indicated that the food is served at around 11:30AM. Oftentimes the food is already cold. Staff also indicated that there have been ocassions wherein yogurt and fruits served from their own kitchen were spoiled and moldy.

Ms. Cabrera stated that a staff saw rodents in the break room a few weeks ago. She also stated that they have set out roach trap in the kitchen. She removed the roach trap this morning and observed roaches trapped on it.

Staff interviewed today have observed roaches/roach droppings inside the classroom.

Ms. Lopez provided Exterminator notes today. It indicated that a rat was captured on glue board inside the property on June 2024. The exterminator company has been coming in monthly to replace traps on the interior and exterior of property.

Based on the information obtained during interviews and documentation reviewed it is determined that
the allegation is valid because the preponderance of the evidence has been met, therefore, the allegations are found to be SUBSTANTIATED. California Code of Regulations, (Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1) the deficiency is being cited on the attached LIC 9099D. The Notice of Site Visit was provided, and LPA observed posting. Licensee is advised it must remain posted for 30 days.

Ana Lopez stated that she will obtain "coolers" to maintain food temperature upon delivery. She will obtain a total of 5 coolers, one for each classroom by 12/12/2024.
Ms. Lopez with send photos of the coolers and copy of store receipts by 12/12/2024.

Based on interviews, outside food vendor delivers the food between 8:30AM-9:30AM. Lunch is not served until 11:30AM. Facility do not have proper equipment to maintain food temperature and avoid food spoilage or bacterial growth.

Ana Lopez stated that the exterminator company (We Got You Pest Control) comes monthly. Service Personnel was present during LPAs inspection to replace baits and applied gel and granules on the exterior and kitchen drain. Copy of report was provided today.
