25 | On 7/20/22 @ 3:05 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst, Joelle Redding, made an unannounced visit to inspect a room addition for an increase in capacity. Request to convert the current staff room to a preschool room and increase capacity from 96 children to 108 children was received on 5/11/22. Fire clearance was received approving the room (Room #3) for an additional 12 children on 7/14/22.
During today's visit, Room #3 was inspected and measured. The room measured 469.81 sq. ft., suitable for 13 children which covers the facility's request. There are 4 toilets and sinks upstairs and an additional 4 toilets and sinks downstairs, sufficient for requested capacity increase. There are still some items for staff, i.e., adult table and chairs, pod coffee pot and microwave, that will be moved out of the room prior to use. Age appropriate furnishings are available and will be in place prior to use. There are open shelves along two of the walls The bottom shelves will be removed or child safe padding will be placed to ensure safety.
A approved space waiver has been granted or the existing playground, allowing the capacity increase with the provision that no more than 88 children (the measured capacity) are on the playground at the same time.
The requested capacity increase for 108 preschool children ages 2 through kindergarten is approved. An updated license will be send for posting. |
