25 | Licensing Program Analysts, Joelle Redding and Dana Stevens, made an unannounced visit for the purpose of a Required annual inspection. Facility is on a Compliance Plan thru 10/23/19. During this visit, there were 24 children with 9 staff. Facility is within ratio and capacity. Program operates Monday thru Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
LPAs toured the facility. The furniture, books, games and toys are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. Rooms were a comfortable temperature during this visit. No hazards were noted. All storage containers and trashes have tight fitting covers are in good repair. Medications are kept in the office, centrally stored, inaccessible to children. Food service area consists of a kitchen which is clean and free of hazards, with food stored safely, per regulation, and the menu is posted. The facility uses Preferred Meal Services for Breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. Naptime is 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. All hazardous items are stored where they are inaccessible to children. The outdoor play area is fenced, has sufficient cushioning and adequate shade. The rear gate's alarm was on and operational per the Compliance Plan. There is an operational water fountain available. The carbon monoxide detector is operational. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. All staff present have a current CPR and First Aid certification. Sign in/out sheets were reviewed. LPA reviewed personnel records and a sample of children's records. SB 792 (staff immunizations) and AB 1207 (Mandated Reporter Training) requirements have been met. Facility is reminded that the Mandated Reporter Training is to be retaken every two years and can be accessed at the following website: www.mandatedreporterca.com.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
