On 9/28/21 at 11:20 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst, Joelle Redding, met with Director in Training for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. There were 25 infants present with 8 teachers and three floaters in four rooms as follows: Room 5: 6 children with a Teacher and an Aide; Room #7: 6 infants with a Teacher and an Aide; Room #9: 6 children with a Teacher and an Aide and Room #1: 7 infants with a Teacher and an Aide. Facility is within ratio and capacity. Program operates Monday thru Friday from 7:30 a.m to 4:30 pm.

LPA toured the rooms. The furniture, books, games and toys are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. Rooms were a comfortable temperature during this visit. No hazards were noted. All infants foods/beverages are labeled/dated and stored per regulation in the infant room refrigerator. Older infants bring their own lunches, stored in the staff room, which is clean and free of hazards and the snack menu is posted. Infant bedding/napping equipment is sufficient and meets regulatory requirements. The outdoor activity space is separate from other programs with age appropriate play equipment. Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary and operating condition. All storage containers or trash cans containing solid waste have tight fitting lids and are in good repair. Infant changing tables meet regulatory requirements and are within arm’s reach of a sink. There are several staff present with current CPR and First Aid certification. Medications are kept in a safe place, inaccessible to children. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. The carbon monoxide detector is operational.

LPA reviewed, sign in/out sheets, a sample of personnel records for educational qualifications and a sample of children's records for emergency information and medical assessments. SB 792 (staff immunizations) and AB 1207 (Mandated Reporter Training) requirements have been met. Facility is reminded the Mandated Reporter Training is to be retaken every two years and can be accessed at the following website: www.mandatedreporterca.com.

Safe Sleep was discussed to include updated regulations, requirements and documents. LIC 9227, Individual Sleep Plans were on file for all infants under 12 months and 15 minute sleep checks were being documented for each infant today. Infant Needs and Services plans were on file for all infants.

Covid-19 precautionary procedures are in place to include masks for staff, regardless of vaccination status, while indoors. There is plenty of PPE available. Infants are evaluated upon entry and monitored throughout the day for signs of illness. The isolation are for ill infants awaiting pick up is the front desk.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
