25 | Licensing Program Analyst, Marie Hernandez (LPA), conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. LPA met with the facility director, Amy Stanley. The Director accompanied LPA on the tour the facility, including the outdoor play area. The facility submitted their documentation advising the Licensing Agency that they replaced the turf (faux) grass in the outdoor play area. The Director stated the children were not allowed to use the outdoor play area until it is inspected and approved by Licensing. LPA inspected the outdoor play area for safety and compliance. LPA did not observe any safety concerns at this time. The facility is approved to use the outdoor play area for the children. During today's visit, there are twenty three children. In room #7, there are twelve infant children with five staff and in room #4/5, there are eleven toddler children with four staff. During today's visit, the facility is within the ratio and capacity. During today's inspection, the furniture, toys, books, games and equipment, both inside and out, are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. Both rooms have adequate heating, lighting and ventilation, are clean and orderly, and free of hazards. All foods/beverages are labeled and stored per regulation in the infant room refrigerator. Food service area for older infants consists of a refrigerator and food prep area which is clean and free of hazards. The food is stored in covered containers per regulation and the snack menu is posted. The toddlers bring their own lunches. Infant bedding/napping equipment is sufficient and meets regulatory requirements. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor activity space, separate from other programs. Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary and operating condition. All storage containers or trash cans containing solid waste have tight fitting lids and are in good repair. Infant changing tables have padded washable material at least one inch thick with sides raised at least three inches, per regulation and are within arm’s reach of a sink. The children's needs and services plans were updated on file. The isolation area is in the Director's office. LPA discussed safety measures pertaining to storage of staff items and items in unsecured drawers. Staff is reminded that all items indicating "Keep out of Reach of Children" are to be made inaccessible at all times. |
