Staff are not providing a safe environment for day care children

On 9/7/22 at 2:45pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Martha Malane conducted an unannounced complaint inspection for the purpose of delivering findings. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director, Thea Tafoya. There were 30 children and four (4) staff present.

On 6/23/22 a complaint alleging staff are not providing a safe environment for day care children was reported to the Department. During the investigation, LPA interviewed daycare parents, staff and outside agencies and documents related to the allegation were reviewed. Facility staff denied that they do not provide a safe environment for children. Facility staff stated they are trained to continually provide a safe and loving environment for all children in care.

Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is unsubstantiated.

LPA reminded director that per Title 22, section 101229: children shall be under supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher at all times.

No deficiencies cited. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
