25 | Licensing Program Analyst, Joelle Redding, made an unannounced visit for the purpose of a random annual inspection. During this visit, there were 46 children with 7 teachers and the Director as follows: 11 children with two teachers in part day Room J1; 19 children with two teachers in Room J3 (3-4 years) and 16 children with two teachers in Room J4 (4-5 years). There is an additional floater teacher and the Director. Facility is within ratio and capacity. Program operates Monday thru Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
LPA toured the rooms. The furniture, books, games and toys are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. Rooms were a comfortable temperature during this visit. No hazards were noted. Any medications are kept in a cabinet, inaccessible to children and transported in an emergency backpack when outside or off site. Bathrooms and handwashing areas are in a safe, sanitary and operating condition. There is a waiver in place to share the elementary school bathrooms. Elementary bathrooms are examined by staff prior to use to ensure they are vacant, clean and sanitary. Supervision is in place at all times. Children bring all their own food. Water bottles are brought outdoors and there is sufficient shade available. There is no evirence of rodent or insect activity. The carbon monoxide detector is operational. All staff present have a current CPR and First Aid certification. Sign in/out sheets were reviewed and found to be current and complete. LPA observed appropriate supervision in and out of the classroom. A sample of children's records were reviewed for admission’s agreements and staff records for qualifications. SB 792 (staff immunizations) and (Mandated Reporter Training) requirements have been met. On 9/20/18, Licensing gave approval for AB 1432 to be taken in lieu of AB 1207.
