25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Selina Siao conducted a case management inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director who was in the auditorium with staff members to plan for activities for today. Director stated that the facility will continue to operate during the summer and the last day of school 07/19/2019.
Facility has at least one operating carbon monoxide detector, a fire drill log that shows that the last drill was conducted with the children in care on 04/09/2019.
The children in care are separated in five different groups based on their grades. The following ratios were observed today: Auditorium had 12 children (3rd graders) supervised by teacher Rachael Patterson. Room 303 had 14 children (4th & 5th graders) supervised by teacher Hannah McCarthy. Outside the black top near the restroom had 13 children (1st graders) playing handball and football supervised by teacher Jennifer Cole and Kathryn Hiquchi. Outside the grass area by room 303 had 7 children (2nd graders) supervised by substitute teacher Annemarie Enriquez aka Dalisay. Teacher Bianca Alvarado and teacher aide Marie Sindayigaya were supervising 17 kindergarten children to line up outside the black top to use the restroom. Staff members records were reviewed today, and all staff members have the required background clearances and are associated to the facility. Staff members have the required immunizations and completed the mandated online child abuse training. Appropriate supervision was observed today. Director was advised to email childcareadvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov to request to be on the distribution list to obtain child care updates. Facility appears to be in substantial compliance during today's inspection. Notice of site visit was posted during the inspection and it must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to keep the posting could result in civil penalty of $100.
