25 | On 8/28/2023, at 2:45 pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA),Vicky Williamson conducted an unannounced annual required inspection. LPA met with Site Supervisor, Victoria Hankins and toured the facility. At 3:30pm, Director, Perelini Koria and school age children arrived to the facility. Room 303 is currently not being used. Per Director, K2 is no longer being utilized by the program. The following ratios were observed: there were 62 children in the Auditorium with Site Supervisor, Victoria Hankins, teacher Stacey Saucedo and teacher's aides Capri Studebaker and Brooklyn Goldbird. Days and hours of operation are, Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 9:15am morning session. On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, hours of operation are 3:00pm - 6:00pm. On Wednesday facility operates morning session and afternoons from 1:00pm - 6:00pm.
Furniture and equipment are in good condition. Rooms have adequate heating, lighting and ventilation. Playground equipment is in safe condition. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. Toilets and hand-washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. Paper towels and toilet paper are available. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible to children. Floors in the facility are clean and safe. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. Drinking water is available indoors and outdoors. Children bring their own water bottle. Facility has a functioning carbon monoxide detector that meet statutory requirements. Adequate snacks are available for children in care. Snack menus are posted monthly. Director stated there are no swimming pools or other bodies of water on the premises. Director stated there are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises.
A review of staff records on this date indicates facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center.
