1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25	On 2/24/2021 @ 11:30 a.m., LPAs Joelle Redding and LeAndra Dolliole made an unannounced case management visit to evaluate the facility for a requested room addition (Montezuma 1) and increase in capacity from 60 to 90 children. LPA Nancy Diaz approved Room #3 for use on 3/12/2020. Fire clearance was received on 7/21/2020. The school cafeteria is no longer being requested and the fire clearance has been updated to reflect this. During this visit, LPA evaluated Montezuma 1. It is a large room, with two bathrooms, allowing privacy for the school age children. There are three toilets and two handwashing sinks available. Ms. D'Amico requested to use the attached outdoor space as well. The space has two swings, sufficient cushioning below and is fully fenced. This area will not be shared by the elementary school or the before and after care program at school. LPA approved this area for use pending removal of dead branches at the bottom of the tree nearest the shed. Room #1, 10 and 11 have been pre approved as has the outdoor space near Room 1, the kindergarten playground and the blacktop adjacent to the kindergarten playground. There is a waiver on file to use the bathrooms on the side of Bldg. 400 nearest the lunch tables as they are shared with other programs. The bathrooms at the far end of Bldg. 400 are exclusively for the program. There are 3 toilets and 2 sinks in the girls bathroom and 3 urinals, 2 toilets and 2 sinks in the boys bathroom. There are also 2 toilets and 2 sinks in Room #1. This is sufficient for the requested capacity of 90 children. During this visit, Ms. D'Amico requested to use the lunch tables for occasional art projects or other messy craft activities. There would be no commingling with other children. LPA approved this area for use with direct supervision at all times.

Per Title 22, Regulation 101538.3(d), Indoor Activity Space for School-Age Children, The capacity per room for a school-age child care program that meets the requirements of Health and Safety Code Section 1596.806 shall not exceed the number of children for which a room of this size is commonly approved for school use during the school day. Ms. D'Amico states that each room will not exceed a capacity of 30 and no measurements were required today. Should the facility open while Covid-19 restrictions are still in place, the cohort size recommended by the Department of Public Health will be adhered to.

No corrections are required. The increase in capacity from 60 to 90 children and the addition of Rooms #3, Montezuma 1, the fenced outdoor space adjacent to Montezuma 1 (pending removal of the dead branches) and the occasional use of the lunch tables with direct supervision, is approved. An updated license will be sent for posting.

This report is being delivered via email, due to Covid-19 restrictions. The facility representative's reply to this email is considered confirmation of receipt.

Notice of Site Visit will be provided to post for 30 days.
