On this date and time, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Laura Callahan met with Director, Jacquelin Marrou and discussed the above allegations.

It was alleged that children in care are getting ill due to staff not properly sanitizing the infant classroom. It also alleged that recent outbreaks, such as pink eye and other viruses, are not being reported to the children's parents and/or authorized representatives.

On 05/15/19, LPA interviewed staff and obtained copies of facility records. During the interviews, staff stated that the infant classroom is cleaned and sanitized daily. They added that the tables and toys are sanitized throughout the day. Staff stated that there has not been any recent outbreaks. The Director stated that there has been isolated cases of different viruses, such as pink eye and mouth infections, but denies not notifying the parents. She stated that all parents and/or authorized representatives are informed in person and by flyers after an illness is discover so that an outbreak does not occur. (Cont. on LIC9099C) .

LPA toured the facility and observed that the infant classroom is clean and contains cleaning/sanitizing materials. LPA reviewed facility records and observed records showing a couple of cases of pink eye and/or eye infections during the month of April 2019. LPA also observed two cases of head lice during the month of November 2018. Copies of flyers, "Exposure Notices", which were made available to all parents and/or authorized representatives, were also provided to LPA by the Director.

Although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore, the allegations are UNSUBSTANTIATED.

An exit interview was conducted with Director, Jacquelin Marrou, and Appeal Rights were explained. A copy of this report was provided to Ms. Marrou, and shall be made available for public review upon request for 3 years.
