Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Diana Sanchez, made an unannounced Annual/Random inspection to the facility to conduct a site inspection. Upon arrival LPA met with site supervisor Angelique Renteria, and proceeded to tour the facility. During today's inspection, there were 44 children with 5 staff in the classroom. Appropriate ratios and capacity were observed. Appropriate care & visual supervision were also observed during the inspection.
Furniture and age appropriate equipment is in good condition. Classroom have adequate heating, lighting and ventilation. Classroom has a drinking water available for children.
Facility uses the school's bathrooms which are well maintained with operational toilets and faucets. Paper towels and toilet paper are available. Facility provides snacks and there is a refrigerator in room. Cleaning supplies are kept separate from food. The facility appears to be free of insects and rodents.

Outdoor play area is a fenced, Angelique stated they use the black top for outside activities. There are no bodies of water or weapons at this facility. Equipment is age appropriate. Area has drinking fountains and grounds are free of debris or potential hazards.

Senate Bill 792 pertaining to immunizations was discussed with Licensee. Licensee understands that anyone who provides care and supervision to the children must have immunization records maintained at the facility for: measles, pertussis, and influenza.

Assembly Bill 1207 Mandated Child Abuse Reporting. Beginning on January 1, 2018, this law requires all licensed providers, applicants, directors and employees to complete training as specified on their mandated reporter duties and to renew their training every two years.

At least one staff member has current CPR and First Aid certifications. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. LPA provided director a copy of the Lead Exposure brochure. LPA advised supervisor of the importance of child abuse reporting and children’s records. LPA explained clearance requirements for persons over 18 working in the facility. Supervisor understood that physical discipline/corporal punishment and smoking shall never be permitted in the child care program.

There are no deficiencies cited on this inspection, all paperwork is in order and required documents were properly posted.

An exit interview was conducted with Angelique Renteria and a copy of this report left at the facility.

LPA observed site supervisor placing the Notice of Cite Visit on the wall visible to parents during today’s visit.
