25 | On 12/09/2020 at 9:30am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Samantha Salunga, conducted a virtual inspection with Christine D’Amico, Director/CEO. The purpose of this inspection is to provide technical assistance and ensure the facility is safe for the care and supervision of children in care. Due to COVID-19 state of emergency, a temporary licensed childcare waiver was granted on 12/04/2020, for the facility to care for up to 17 school age children (TK thru 13-years-old) at the above address to support with distance learning. Facility was operating under the blanket waiver prior to being granted the temporary licensed childcare waiver. The facility will only utilize Room #2 to care for the school age children. Fire clearance of this room was previously granted on 08/05/2020.
Check-in will take place in the front of the classroom. If children become ill during the day, they will rest in an open area outside of the classroom with staff supervision. Isolation restroom is located in the staff restroom. There are 3 sinks, 3 toilets, and 1 urinal available to the children. Children’s authorized representative will be contacted immediately for pick up, if a child becomes ill. Department of Public Health will be contacted in regard to any COVID-19 illness. Children will stay with the same group as assigned and will not be moved from one group to the other. No more than 16 individuals in a cohort and groups must be kept physically separated. Age appropriate furniture including tables and chairs are present in Room #2 to meet the needs of children in care. Bathroom is located in the hallway. There is a designated outdoor play area with age appropriate equipment and activities. Drinking water readily available through the use of water jugs and water bottles. The facility will maintain children files that include emergency authorization cards and staff files that include proof of criminal background clearance. All childcare areas, including the playgrounds, will be cleaned and sanitized daily or more often as necessary following the facility’s cleaning and sanitation policies.
