25 | Licensing Program Analyst, Joelle Redding, made an announced visit to inspect the facilty for a requested increase in capacity. This visit was scheduled as the school is closed for the summer no staff is routinely on site until September 3.
LPA toured and measured the new building called "the Barn" for a requested increase in capacity for an additional 21 children. The request was received on 7/24/19. The building measures 862.455 sq. feet for a total capacity of 24 children. There are two toilets, a urinal and four sinks available in this building.
During this visit, LPA measured the Pre K front patio area (between the main playground and the preK classroom) for additional outdoor space. This area was recently added with the renovation of the Barn. The area measured 1394.88 sq. ft., suitable for an additional 18 children.
It is to be noted that both the outdoor space outside of classroom #2 and the main playground were increased recently. The main playground was renovated to remove existing play structures and add a deck, climbing wall, slide and some new play equipment. The original sidewalks were replaced to add compressed gravel paths and the chain link fence was replaced with a wooden fence. Trees were added for shade. The areas were inspected for safety but were not remeasured as the currently measured, total overall outdoor space capacity with the two patios and the main playground is sufficient for a total of 61 children. This amount exceeds the requested increase in capacity.
No hazards were noted inside or out. Fire clearance was granted on 8/29/19. The request for increase in capacity is granted and an updated license will be mailed for posting. |
