25 | On 03/22/22 at 9:00 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Rajani Goudreau arrived at the facility to conduct a pre-licensing inspection. Upon arrival LPA, met with applicant, Christina Bradley and proceeded to tour the facility. The facility is requested a capacity of 19 children; including 9 preschool children; serving ages 2 years old through Kindergarten and 10 toddler children; ages 18 through 36 months. The preschool program will operate in classrooms #2 and #3 and the toddler program will operate in classroom #1. Facility plans to operate Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The preschool and toddler indoor space measures a total of 943.81 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate 26 children at one time. The toddler classroom measures 387.93 which is sufficient to accommodate 11 toddlers. The preschool classroom #2, #3 measure a total of 555.88 square feet which is sufficient for 15 children. However due to limited outdoor space licensee is requesting a capacity of 10 toddlers and 9 preschool children. Updated LIC200A received at time of inspection. The classrooms are equipped with age appropriate furniture and play equipment, tables, chairs, cubbies, bookshelves, and other materials for the children’s use. The classrooms were observed to be orderly, free of hazards and have adequate heating, lighting and ventilation. There is a restroom in the toddler classroom containing one toilet and one sink for the children's use and a changing table within arm's reach of the sink. In addition, the preschool children will utilize a restroom located in the main hallway of the facility containing one sink and one toilet. The number of toilets and sinks is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 19 children. The restroom's and hand washing areas were observed to be in safe, sanitary and operating condition. Uncontaminated drinking water is readily available during indoor and outdoor activities through the use of refillable water containers and cups brought from home. Snacks, breakfast and lunch will be provided by the facility. The kitchen is located in the adjacent building under the infant license. The kitchen contains a staff restroom, a fridge, one sink and cabinets. The isolation area is located in a designated area in the classrooms for ill children. See LIC809-Continuation page.. |
