25 | On January 19, 2022 at 12:30pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Catrina Quimbo conducted an unannounced, annual, required inspection. LPA met with center director, Mariellen "Mame" Campbell and explained the purpose of the inspection. Facility is a co-op program with a morning (9:30am to 12:30pm) and afternoon (12:30pm- 3:30pm) session. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 9:30am to 3:30pm. Facility is located in Glen Canyon Park near Park and Rec building. Present during inspection included director, teacher (H1), 3 volunteers/parents of enrolled children, and 12 enrolled children. Facility is currently operating within teacher to child ratio on this date.
With director, LPA inspected entire facility for health and safety hazards. Program's morning session operates on the second floor of the building with a capacity of 25 children. LPA observed morning session's classroom to be separated into 6 different sections. Sections include multipurpose, dramatic play, arts and crafts, and journal areas. Classroom is equipped with a variety of age appropriate toys and materials. Storage for children's belongings are located inside the classroom, labeled with each child's individual names. Program's afternoon session operates on ground floor of the building with a capacity of 19 children. LPA observed afternoon session's classroom to be designed as morning session's classroom, separated into multiple sections that include dramatic play, arts and crafts and journal areas. Storage for children's belongings are located outside the classroom, labeled with each child's individual names.
LPA observed facility has an installation of a fire alarm system as well as multiple smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, fully charged fire extinguishers and emergency kits on each floor of building. All poisons, cleaning solutions and hazardous materials are stored inaccessible to children. Facility does not currently provide a food service.
