25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Andrea Medlin met with assistant director for this random annual licensing visit. Purpose of visit explained. There are 72 children present. Facility meets teacher/child ratio today. Days and hours of operation: Monday-Friday 7:30AM-6:00PM. Physical plant toured to inspect for health and safety hazards. There are 4 classrooms for the children divided by age group; rooms #2, #3, #4 and a TK room on the lower level which children enter from the right side. There is a multi-purpose room for music and gym next to the lobby; an art studio, a yoga room, a workshop, and a sensory motor room. The facility has fully charged fire extinguishers that meet the minimum requirements, smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors in facility. Children's bathrooms inspected; all toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. No pools, spas, hot tubs, fish ponds, or similar bodies of water are present. Per director, there are no firearms or weapons on site. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children are inaccessible. Variety of age appropriate toys and materials for children is available. Facility provides snacks and meals. Adequate first aid supplies are available. Cots and mats are provided for napping. Facility provides meals and snacks for the children. Sick children will be separated from the group while waiting for parents to pick up. Outdoor play areas inspected for health and safety hazards. The facility uses 3 separate gated off playgrounds based on child's age; all areas are enclosed by fences. The areas outside are cushioned with soft rubber. Outdoor activity space surfaces are free of hazards. Facility has posted the required licensing forms in a prominent accessible location. LPA reviewed staff and children's files. In the children’s files, all have current immunizations and a copy of Parent's Rights. In the staff files, each has the appropriate educational requirements, verification of the required staff immunizations, and verification of the mandated child abuse reporting training as compliant with AB1207. Staff have current Pediatric First Aid and CPR.
