25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced annual inspection today. LPA met with a Site Director, Kelly Dotson, and explained the purpose of the inspection to her. The facility had 30 children with 9 staff including 2 substitute teachers present upon LPA's arrival. Per Kelly, two staff went for a neighborhood walk with 11 children during the inspection. The facility's operation hours were Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 6 PM.LPA inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. The facility has run the preschool program in 4 classrooms (The Bet, Gimel, The Aleph, and Gan Katan), Studio (Art class), a library, and 2 outdoor play yards (Front and back). The facility was clean and in order. The temperature and lighting were adequate. Toxins and harmful objects were made inaccessible to the children; The facility had plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, learning materials and equipment, and children's furniture that was in good condition and repaired in each room. An emergency backpack and a big sink with 2 faucets were available in each classroom. The facility had 2 children's bathrooms with a total of 6 toilets, and 2 big sinks with 2 faucets available. The facility had a staff bathroom available on the upper level. Some cubbies and hooks were available for the children to store their personal belongings either close or in the classroom. The facility has conducted the emergency at least 2 times a year and logged it. The facility has provided AM/PM snacks to the children only. The children have brought their meals and water bottle to school. Cots with the children's names were used for napping. The facility had a front play yard (Garden) and a back play yard that had a slide structure with tanbark. The yards were completely fenced. There were plenty of age-appropriate toys, ride-on toys, sandboxes, and play structures for the children outdoors. It also had a big sink with 2 faucets and a water fountain in the backyard. Per Kelly, there were no children on special medication. LPA inspected the kitchen for health and safety hazards as well. The kitchen was clean and in order. It had a garbage can with a tide lid. The facility posted all the required postings. LPA inspected the sign-in/out sheets during the inspection. LPA also reviewed the staff and children's files and obtained a copy of the children's roster from the facility during the inspection. At least one staff had current CPR/First Aid training, it will expire in 2/2024.
