25 | 3, Licensing Program Analyst, LPA conducted an annual random inspection today. The purpose of the inspection was explained. LPA toured the preschool areas with the school principal, Ms. Andonian. There are 19 napping children and 4 staff members present today. No change in the daycare areas. Day-care areas: blue room, red room, yellow room, and preschool yard. The preschool yard is shared with the kindergarten when preschool children are not using it. The waiver is posted. The facility operates Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 3: 45 p.m., Mid-August thru the first week of June. The school is closed during the summer. The children's toys and furniture appear to be age-appropriate and in good repair. There are 3 toilets and 3 sinks available for the children. Isolation areas for a sick child are in the school office then calling parents for pick up. The school is equipped with carbon monoxide, smoke detector, and a fully charged fire extinguisher. The school provides hot lunches on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Grandparents/parents volunteer to make lunches for the children. On Monday and Friday, children bring their own lunches. Snacks are provided by the facility morning and afternoon. The food is prepared on-site (kitchen). Required staff immunization was reviewed by the previous inspection. The staff has a current CPR & 1st aid certificate which expires 9/2020. LPA discussed the Mandated Reporter Training, AB1207 that was effective on 1/1/2018. All staff must take the training and keep the certificate on file. The training needs to be renewed once every 2 years.
