25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marie Rodriguez conducted an unannounced Annual inspection. LPA met with Licensees Gladys and Karen Jefferson and explained purpose of inspection. Present in home were the Licensees, Licensee's husband/father, and three preschool aged children. Licensees are operating within capacity requirements on this day. All adults living or working in the home have a criminal record clearance on file. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm.
Day Care Areas: Lower level:Living room, dining room, and bathroom. Off Limit Areas: Lower level:Remaining portions of lower level of home. Entire upper level of home. LPA toured day care areas of home with Licensees. LPA observed home to be clean and in good repair with proper temperature and ventilation. Per Licensees, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. There are no bodies of water on the premises. There is a variety of age appropriate toys and equipment in the home which are in good condition. Stairs are inaccessible to children with a child protective gate at the bottom of the stairs. Fireplace is properly barricaded. All cleaning supplies, poisons, and other chemicals are stored inaccessible to children. There is a working smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector, a fully charged fire extinguisher, and a working telephone.
Five children records reviewed were complete. All children have a record of emergency identification information on file. Licensee record reviewed was complete. Licensee has a Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate which expires April 2023. Last emergency drill was conducted in April 2022. Emergency drills are conducted at least once every six months and are properly logged.
No deficiencies cited today under California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12.
